On Aug. 17, the Seafair Clowns along with Mayor Denis Law and members of the Renton City Council will visit the City of Renton’s Heritage Park Summer Lunch Program located at 233 Union Avenue NE.
Following a request by Council member Don Persson, the Seafair Clowns will provide entertainment and are donating schools supplies for 200 plus inner city children. The supplies will be handed out by the Seafair Clowns, Renton’s Mayor, members of the Renton City Council and other local personalities. Lunch is served at 11:45. Seafair Clowns are scheduled to arrive at 12:15.
Seafair Clown School Supply Giveaways is a yearly event and made possible from endowments from Stoneway Concrete and Gary Merlino Construction Company and their suppliers.
Appearing at neighborhood parades and festivals, nursing homes, hospitals and care centers from Canada to Mexico, this is the Clowns 56th year with Seafair.Their 2009 appearance at Heritage Park and the school supply giveaway was the highlight of the summer for the kids. The summer lunch program is open to the public and there is no registration or proof of income or residence required.
