Seafair has tons of activities for kids to take part in this summer!
Do your kids enjoy friendly competition? Sign them up for the Benaroya Research Institute Triathlon at Seafair, where they can race in their very own triathlon. There are two categories of difficulty, so kids of all ages and skill levels are encouraged to participate.
Help them build their very own milk carton boats and race on Green Lake during the Pirate’s Booty Milk Carton Derby. For those who wish to remain on dry land, there will be plenty of activities on the shore.
On July 10th, The Seafair Pirates will sail in from the seven seas and land at Alki beach. Kids will have an opportunity to meet the pirates, and the first 500 kids that arrive will receive a free toy pirate kit.
Later in July, the Seafair Pirates, as well as magnificent floats, balloons, clowns, and talented performers will travel down the streets of downtown Seattle during the Alaska Airlines Torchlight Parade. Bring out the entire family to watch the excitement!

If they’d rather watch the excitement, bring the family to Genesee Park for Seafair Weekend. Everyone will enjoy watching the hydroplane races, air show, and Hyperlite wakeboard competition. There is even a designated Kids Zone where kids can bounce on inflatable rides, jumpers, and play other games. Also during Seafair Weekend, fleets of ships from the U.S. Navy, Coast Guard, and Canadian Navy arrive into Elliott Bay. Families can even take tours aboard selected vessels.
Before heading out to enjoy all Seafair has to offer during the summer, be sure to visit the “Seattle’s Child 10 Tips for a Successful Seafair Summer Celebration with Kids” page to make sure your kids stay safe throughout the summer. Help Seafair celebrate summer by being a part of the fun!
