Fourteen awards were presented to the best and most creative entries in the Alaska Airlines Torchlight Parade at Seafair. Judging was based on creativity, design and best use of theme (“Celebrate Summer”). Seafair and Alaska Airlines were pleased to honor Winter Olympic medal winner and Northwest native, Apolo Anton Ohno as the 2010 Alaska Airlines Torchlight Parade Grand Marshal. Apolo Ohno is the most decorated United States Winter Olympic athlete having captured eight Olympic Medals (two gold, two silver, four bronze). Ohno, 28, was born and raised in Federal Way, Washington and was previously the Grand Marshal of the Torchlight Parade in 2002.
