Seafair & 76 Special People's Holiday Cruise
December 7, 2008

Celebrate the Season!

This heartwarming event takes to the water as independent boaters and charter operators volunteer their boats, crew and time to host more than 2,000 developmentally disabled guests on a special holiday cruise on Lake Union and Lake Washington.

Nearly 400 boaters will decorate their boats in a festive display of lights and welcome guests aboard at various docks and yacht clubs around the area.

Once on board, guests are treated to snacks and beverages provided by participating boat owners and skippers, as well as entertainment and visits from Santa Claus as they make their way for a two-hour cruise through the Mountlake Cut and near the 520 bridge.

Simultaneous cruises take place in Bremerton, Tacoma and Olympia.

Volunteer!
The Seafair & 76 Special People's Holiday Cruise is scheduled from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 7, 2008.

Passengers will begin loading at various docks and yacht clubs at approximately 2:30 p.m. Departure times vary by dock location. The Holiday Cruise is a meaningful event for all who attend, and as participation increases, we need your help to accommodate each guest.

If you would like to volunteer your boat for this holiday event, please fill out the boater registration form and mail or fax to Seafair by November 10, 2008.

To make your guests' trip more enjoyable, we graciously request all boaters provide light snacks as cookies, cheese, crackers, fruit and juice.

All participating boats must be power boats at least 26 feet in length. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate sailboats in the Holiday Cruise.

In addition to our boating guests, the Holiday Cruise attracts thousands of landside spectators and receives local media coverage. We request everyone to decorate their boats with bright lights and holiday decorations. Be creative and festive so your boat will stand out in the parade!

Our Special Guests
Our Holiday Cruise special guests are developmentally disabled and have varying degrees of physical and mental challenges. For many of our special guests, the Holiday Cruise is the highlight of their year. Your support is greatly appreciated!

Seafair & 76 encourage the participation of developmentally disabled guests in the Special People's Holiday Cruise. To ensure an enjoyable experience for everyone, we suggest guest participants be at least 12 years of age and appropriately chaperoned. Please take into consideration the factors of open water boating, weather and crowd excitement when signing up to participate in the Seafair & 76 Special People's Holiday Cruise.

Participant registration is full for the 2008 Holiday Cruise at this time.

Please email Seafair for more information.
