Adult Triathlon
Voted the Pacific Northwest's best triathlon and Seattle's only Olympic distance course!
Olympic Challenge Course: 1-mile swim, 20-mile bike, 10K run.
Sprint Course: .5-mile swim, 12-mile bike, 5K run.
Relay Teams: 2-person and 3-person.
Minimum age for participation in the adult triathlon is 13.
Kids Triathlon
Kids can “tri”, too, on a fun, custom-designed course just for them!
Kids Beginner Course: 50 yard swim, 1-mile bike, .2 mile run.
Kids Intermediate Course: 100 yard swim, 2-mile bike, .5 mile run.
Minimum age for participation in the kid's triathlon is 6.
The swim course is knee to waist deep so kids can stand up if necessary, however, intermediate course participants may need to swim.

Online registration closes on Thursday, July 18. On-site registration at the expo will be based on availability. All participants will receive an event t-shirt and finishers medal. Several event partners are offering discounted rates/packages for participants:

Get in the Seafair summer spirit! Join us after the race at our celebration in the park featuring music, vendor booths, the Washington Athletic Club's relaxation lounge and a visit from some of your favorite Seafair personalities! Awards will be given to the top three men and women from each race course.

Relay Teams
Not ready to take on all three sports in one day? Bring your friends, family and co-workers and participate as a relay team. Two-person and three-person relay teams may compete in either the male, female, or coed divisions.
Swim Course Notice
It is very important that all athletes who choose to compete in an Olympic or sprint distance triathlon are capable of swimming at least half a mile in open water. If you do not have experience swimming in open water, it is highly recommended that you do so prior to the race.
Milfoil
Due to environmental concerns, the milfoil in Andrews Bay may not be cut prior to the race. Although the milfoil will be pushed back as athletes enter the water, please expect to possibly encounter some milfoil throughout your swim.
Race Transfer Policy
For insurance purposes the Benaroya Research Institute Seafair Triathlon has a NO RACE TRANSFER policy in place. If you choose not to race this year, you may not give your race number to another athlete, however you may defer your registration to the following year.
Deferral Policy
Deferral is on a case by case basis. Please contact Kyle via e-mail to make a request.
Transition Area
The transition area will be open and supervised starting at 5:15 a.m. on Sunday, July 21. For the safety of all participants, only registered participants will be allowed in the transition area. Participants may leave their personal belongings in this secure area. Please rack your bike on your designated bike rack, which is determined by your race number. Athletes can only rack their bikes the morning of the race, no day before bike racking will be allowed. Gerk's Cycle will be available for any bike repair. All participants can enter the transition zone starting at 5:15 a.m., and may enter the area after the first wave of swimmers has started at 6:30 a.m. via the Transition Zone Participant Entrance.
Event Parking
Parking is not permitted at Seward Park, however participants may park in the surrounding neighborhood. Please be respectful of the residents who share their neighborhood with us and abide by all parking restrictions, keeping noise to a minimum.
Race Timing
AA Sports is the official timing company of the Benaroya Research Institute Seafair Triathlon.
Prize Money
Prize money will be awards to the top three individuals (male & female) competing in the elite wave of the Olympic Challenge Race. Only individuals competing in the elite wave will be eligible to win prize money. Elite athletes are not eligible to win age group awards. There will be no elite category or prize money for individuals competing in the sprint triathlon.
1st Place - $500
2nd Place - $250
3rd Place - $100
Elite Wave Information
To participate in the elite wave, first register, then send an e-mail requesting to be placed into the elite wave along with comparable times/placing from your previous three (3) triathlons.
Finish Line Participant Zone
All race participants will complete the race and end in the finish line zone. Water and refreshments will be provided. Additionally, please place your timing chip in the bins before exiting the zone. The finish line zone is for participants only.
Results
Official results will be posted here by 7 p.m. the night of the event.
